Ruta at the Ab Harrewijn Prize 2026 Ceremony

On 16 May 2026, Ruta Voices had the honour of providing the musical intermezzo during the award ceremony of the Ab Harrewijn Prize in Rotterdam.

The Ab Harrewijn Prize is awarded annually to individuals and organisations that make an exceptional contribution to society through social initiatives, community building, inclusion, and support for vulnerable groups. This year’s nominees included projects focused on food security, social cohesion, cultural participation, and creating opportunities for people facing difficult circumstances.

As a Ukrainian choir, we felt that this was exactly the right place to share our music and culture. Many of the themes discussed during the event — freedom, human dignity, solidarity, community, and caring for one another — are values that resonate deeply with us and with the Ukrainian experience.

It was inspiring to hear the stories of people who dedicate their time and energy to making society more inclusive and compassionate. We are grateful to the organisers for inviting Ruta Voices to be part of this meaningful event and to contribute to the programme through music.

We congratulate all nominees and the winner of the Ab Harrewijn Prize 2026 and thank everyone who made this special afternoon possible.
